The National Bureau of Statistics has released The 2022 Tanzania Demographic and Health Survey (2022 TDHS-MIS) which is the 7th DHS survey in Tanzania conducted through the DHS program.
The main objective of the 2022 TDHS-MIS is to obtain current information on health or inform policies at the global, regional, and national levels and to measure progress toward the Tanzania Development Vision 2025.
The report of the study shows that 16% of women in Tanzania have no education, compared with 10 of men. A total of 16,312 households in Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar were selected for the TDHS-MIS sample.
The report also shows that 9% of women selected in the sample have not completed primary education while 14.8% of men did not complete primary education. 30.7% of women have reached secondary education and above, while 35.7% of men have either reached secondary education or went to high education, the report says.
