THE Tanzanian government has promoted and paid entitled benefits to 412,000 public sector workers in the four-year presidency of Samia Suluhu Hassan, the government revealed yesterday, May 1st, in Singida.
The Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Labour, Youth, Employment and Persons with Disabilities), Ridhiwani Kikwete, said today during the celebration of the Workers’ Day in Singida, highlighting these achievements during the International Workers’ Day celebrations held nationally at Bombadia grounds in Singida.
He hailed President Samia’s government for demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting workers by increasing their allowances by 100 percent. “This move has played a significant role in helping employees cope with various living expenses, especially during this period of growing global economic challenges,” he said.
In his speech, Ridhiwani emphasized that President Samia directed that lump sum payments be made on time through both public and private sector systems.
He confirmed that this directive has been fully implemented, and many workers are now receiving their retirement benefits promptly, which has strengthened their economic and social well-being.
