Shinyanga Region has received over TSh 1 trillion over the past four years, which has been used to fund development activities across all sectors.

Out of this amount, TSh 17 billion was allocated to the agriculture sector for various initiatives.

Government Spokesperson Gerson Msigwa stated this on May 3, 2025, noting that the President has made significant efforts to ensure farmers benefit from subsidies on fertilizers and pesticides to improve cotton farming practices.

Previously, farmers harvested an average of 300 kilograms of cotton per acre due to traditional farming methods. Now, with the adoption of modern techniques, a single farmer can harvest up to 2,000 kilograms per acre.
