The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has been honored with the Mother of the Nation Order, one of the highest civilian honors bestowed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The medal was conferred on behalf of the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and presented by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in a ceremony held at the State House in Dar es Salaam on May 5, 2025.

This distinguished award recognizes outstanding leadership in fostering sustainable development, promoting community well-being, and championing the empowerment of women. The Government of the UAE acknowledged President Samia’s exceptional contributions to Tanzania’s socioeconomic transformation—efforts that strongly resonate with the UAE’s values and long-term development strategies.

During the ceremony, H.E. Sheikh Abdullah conveyed warm greetings and congratulations from the UAE President and extended his best wishes to the people of Tanzania for continued peace, prosperity, and progress. He also underscored the UAE’s commitment to further deepening bilateral ties with Tanzania and expanding collaboration across key sectors of mutual interest.
