Deputy Speaker and Ilala MP Mussa Zungu delivered his farewell message to Parliament on June 20, 2025, marking the end of his five-year term as the 12th Parliament draws to a close.

Speaking after the Q&A session, Zungu thanked fellow lawmakers, parliamentary staff, and the people of Ilala for their support. He emphasized unity, integrity, and compassion as key values for MPs returning to seek re-election.

“Go back to your constituencies with facts, campaign respectfully, and support those in need,” he urged, encouraging MPs to highlight President Samia’s achievements.

Zungu, who will not attend next week’s sessions, expressed gratitude for the journey and the teamwork in Parliament.

President Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected to officially close the 12th Parliament on June 27, with the dissolution date to follow in the Government Gazette ahead of general elections.
