CCM dismisses claims of candidate disqualification in nomination process

The ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has refuted reports suggesting that some aspirants have been eliminated from its ongoing nomination process ahead of the 2025 General Elections.

Speaking in Dodoma on July 13, CCM’s Ideology, Publicity, and Training Secretary, Amos Makalla, clarified that no candidate has been disqualified at any stage of the vetting process, which includes ward, district, and regional levels.

Makalla described recent media reports as misleading, stressing that all recommendations from lower committees are still under review by the party’s national leadership.

He urged party members to remain calm, noting that final decisions will be made by CCM’s Central Committee in accordance with party procedures.
