Breaking: Tanzania’s govt statement to Tanzanians living in Ukraine

The situation in Ukraine is getting worse; with the Russian army advancing into Ukraine, keeping more cities under siege, the Tanzanian government released a statement to more than 300 Tanzanians living in Ukraine.

The statement released by the Tanzania Foreign Ministry asks more than 300 Tanzania citizens in Ukraine to seek refuge in Romania and Poland as the government is working to seek further viable measures that would guarantee their security.

Mr Emmanuel Buhohela, Foreign Ministry Director of Communication, said Tanzanians moving to those neighbouring countries would be a probable path to evacuate them to Tanzania safely.

“Until now, we do not have any reports of any casualties or whatsoever from Tanzania, thus ask parents having children and relatives in Ukraine to stay calm as government is closely monitoring the situation”, Buhohela said.
