Dar and Bagamoyo expect 25% water shortage from today, announces DAWASA

The Dar es Salaam Water and Sanitation Authority (DAWASA) has stated that there will be water shortages in some parts of Dar es Salaam and Bagamoyo.

A statement issued by Dawasco stated that the deficit, which will start today, Thursday, April 14, 2022, until tomorrow is due to mudslides in the water filter at the Ruvu River plant due to heavy rains the Morogoro region.

The report said the water distribution will be reduced by 25%. Also, water pressure will be lower in the areas served by the Ruvu Lower Plant, as the affected areas will be, Mapinga, Mabwepande, Bunju, Tegeta, Mbweni, Boko, Salasala, Goba, Mivumoni, Kawe, Lugalo, Makongo, UDSM areas and Mwenge.

Other areas expected to experiece shortages including, Kijitonyama, Mikocheni, Msasani, Oysterbay, Masaaki, Mwananyamala, Kinondoni, Magomeni, Kigogo, Chang’ombe, Keko, Kurasini, Kigamboni, Airport, Kiwalani, Buguruni, Vingunguti, Ilala and central city.
