Tanzanian motorists will see lower fuel costs this August, as prices for petrol, diesel, and kerosene fall for the third consecutive month.
The Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) announced the new prices, effective Wednesday, August 6, 2025, citing falling global oil prices, a stronger shilling, and reduced shipping premiums.
In Dar es Salaam, petrol now costs Sh2,843 per litre, diesel Sh2,777, and kerosene Sh2,768. Similar drops were recorded in Tanga and Mtwara, with wholesale prices also reduced.
The continued decrease offers welcome relief to consumers and transport-reliant businesses nationwide.
