Government to continue addressing CAG recommendations

Prime Minister Dr Mwigulu Nchemba has said the government will continue implementing all recommendations made by the Controller and Auditor General (CAG), warning that strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty of misappropriating public funds.

He made the remarks on November 6, 2026, while delivering a speech during the adjournment of Parliament. He urged accounting officers and all government officials to comply with laws, regulations and procedures governing public expenditure in line with approved plans and budgets to avoid audit queries and loss of public funds.

He said Members of Parliament had made passionate contributions, demonstrating their concern for the protection of the country’s resources.

The Prime Minister also urged all ministries and government institutions to implement directives issued by President Samia Suluhu Hassan during the inauguration of the Government City in Mtumba, Dodoma, on October 30, 2026.
