Tanzanians can now access and complete various land services through the digital e-Ardhi system, including signing their land title deeds without having to travel to the region where the service originated.

The Assistant Commissioner for Lands in Ruvuma Region, Said Juma Kijiji, said the system has brought significant improvements to land-service delivery through the use of technology.

He said the system has made it easier for citizens to access services, reduced travel costs and time, and simplified the process of tracking land services.

Kijiji said the ability to sign land title deeds remotely is one of the key changes introduced by the system.

“Through the e-Ardhi system, a citizen can sign their title deed while in any region, so it is no longer necessary to travel to the region where their service originated,” Kijiji said.

Senior Land Officer from the Ministry’s headquarters, Hisani Mtolera, urged citizens and stakeholders in the land sector to learn and use the e-Ardhi system in order to benefit from the services offered digitally.

He said the system remains an important part of reforms in land-service delivery by enabling citizens to access services more efficiently and conveniently.
