Police in Mara Region are holding lawyer Keneth Nkiko, 28, over the alleged killing of Magreth Richard, 22, a businesswoman and resident of Mkendo, Musoma Municipality.

Mara Regional Police Commander Pius Lutumo said the incident occurred on October 5, 2026, in Mwigobero Street, Musoma Municipality.

Commander Lutumo said Nkiko, whose role involved providing legal assistance to victims of gender-based violence, is accused of killing the woman, who was his girlfriend, following an alleged attack during which she was struck with a blunt object and injured with a sharp object.

He added that preliminary investigations indicate the incident was linked to relationship jealousy, with the suspect allegedly accusing his girlfriend of being unfaithful.
