After eight months behind bars, the CHADEMA head and a staunch oppositional leader Freeman Mbowe has finally held a long waited press after eight months that he had spent behind prison walls.

Speaking before the press at CHADEMA headquarters in Kinondoni Dar es Salaam, Mbowe unveiled three essential things he had discussed with President Samia soon after his release from prison on March 4, 2022.

First, Mbowe and President Samia spoke on creating a congenial political environment that will spearhead attaining peace and harmony.

“I urged President Samia to not speak about peace rights”, said Mr Mbowe when mentioning the second item of his agenda with President Samia.

“CHADEMA is the leading oppositional party in Tanzania, and it is everywhere. None, including the state apparatus, cannot muzzle us”, Mbowe added while mentioning the third item in his list.
