After 16 years of Angela Merkel in the office as Germany’s Chancellor, she finally stepped down handing over the bags to Germany’s well known politician, Olaf Scholz.
The former finance minister, Scholz who won 395 of 707 votes cast in the Bungestag lower house said his centre-left-led coalition will offer a new beginning for Europe’s economy.
Merkel wished him luck, asking him to do everything “in the best interest of our country,” as quoted.
