Parliament has approved a total of TSh 1.242 trillion for the Ministry of Agriculture for the 2025/2026 financial year.
This approval follows the presentation of the ministry’s budget estimates and strategic focus areas by Agriculture Minister Hussein Bashe on May 21.
Many MPs praised the ministry’s efforts and urged it to deliver even greater results with the increased budget.
In his closing remarks, Minister Bashe emphasized that the ministry’s plans are long-term and consider the needs of future generations.
He also noted that agriculture has been the backbone of Tanzania since the era of the founding father, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, and the ministry remains committed to upholding that vision.
