PM Majaliwa: Tanzania now more investor-friendly after addressing key challenges

Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has assured both local and international investors that Tanzania is now a more attractive destination for investment, following government reforms aimed at resolving challenges that investors previously faced.

Speaking in Parliament today, Majaliwa made the statement while responding to a question from Ushetu MP Emmanuel Cherehani, who asked about the government’s strategy regarding key industries such as cotton, tobacco, and cashew processing.

“I want to assure all investors that Tanzania is the right place to invest. The country is strategically positioned and bordered by eight nations that rely on the Tanzanian market,” said Majaliwa.

He emphasized that Tanzania’s membership in both the East African Community (EAC) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) opens access to a large customer base. The presence of major ports in Dar es Salaam, Tanga, and Mtwara further strengthens the country’s position as a regional trade and investment hub.

“Tanzania has addressed most of the concerns investors raised. We are open for business,” the Prime Minister added.
