President Samia Urges Citizens to Register in Second Phase of Voter Enrollment

President Samia Suluhu Hassan has called on all Tanzanians to turn out in large numbers to register for the upcoming elections, emphasizing the importance of exercising their constitutional right to vote.

Speaking during her visit to update her details in the Permanent Voter Register at Chamwino in Dodoma, President Samia stressed that the current phase marks the second and final opportunity for citizens to register.

“I urge my fellow citizens to come out in large numbers and register to vote. This is the second round—please inform those who missed the first round that it has already passed. If we miss this second round, there will be no chance to repeat it in the future,” she said.

She further encouraged the public not to lose their right to vote due to delays or negligence:
“To avoid losing your right, I appeal to all citizens to make it a priority to register during this second phase so that we can all be eligible to vote.”

The President’s message comes as the National Electoral Commission continues its nationwide voter registration exercise ahead of the 2025 General Elections.

The Chamwino visit underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible Tanzanian has the opportunity to participate in shaping the country’s democratic future.
