Shakhtar Donetsk floored by Real Madrid 2 -1 in the European Cup on November 3, making Madrid achieve a landmark of 1000 goals in the Champions League.
Karim Benzema’s scored the 100th goal which enhanced his legendary status as he set the history of Madrid being the first team to score 1000 goals in the Champions League.
Madrid’s 900th goal was scored by Christiano Ronaldo in 2017 against Bayern in a 4 -2 win. Again in 2013, Ronaldo scored the 800th goal in a group stage match in a 2 – 0 away win
Gonzalo Higuain scored the 700th goal in a 2 – 2 draw against AC Millan in 2010. The 600th was scored in 2003 by David Beckham in a 2 – 1 victory over Olympique Marseille.
And the 1000th half was scored by Guti in the 2000 victory of 4 – 0 over Sporting CP.
Benzema’s goal puts Madrid on top of Group D after they were defeated by Sheriff in September.
He has so far scored 13 goals in 14 appearances.
