Sabaya has the case to answer, court rules

The Arusha Magistrate’s Court has found Lengai Ole Sabaya (34), the former Hai District Commissioner, and seven other co-accused persons with a case to answer in the Economic Sabotage allegations tried against them.

The Resident Magistrate Judge presiding over the case, Patricia Kisinda, ruled that, after a thorough review of 13 submitted evidence and 12 exhibits from the public prosecutors, the courts found Sabaya and seven co-accused with the case to answer over accused charges.

Following the rule from the preliminary hearing, a defendant’s attorney Mr. Mosses Muhuna informed the court that his client would call in not less than ten witnesses in defense along with exhibits. Attorney Muhuna had further requested an extension of time before the court to compile enough evidence to defend his client.

Judge Kisinda postponed the case hearing to 17 January 2022, where the accusers shall present their evidence for the defense.
