The Saint Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT) has revoked the conferred degrees to 162 Medical Doctors who graduated at St Francis University College of Health and Allied Sciences (SFUCHAS)from 2015-2019.
A Public notice issued in the Daily Newspaper on Monday (27th March 2023) said the 162 graduates deliberately refused to return academic transcripts issued to them without the knowledge and endorsement of the university senate despite thorough reminders.
The statement signed by the Chairman of SAUT senate Ambassador Prof Costa Mahalu states the decision to withdraw the degree comes after the University Senate meeting held in February this year.
“SAUT through the University Senate in its 54th senate extraordinary meeting held on 25th February 2023 at SAUT main campus has in pursuant to Section 47(1) & (2) of the Universities Act, Act No. 7 of 2005 read together with Articles 6(3)(ii), 7,8 and Rule 29 (1) of the SAUT Charter GN. NO. 580 of 2020 revoked the conferred degrees to 162 SFUCHAS Medical Doctors graduates from 2015 -2019,” reads the statement.
