Government of Tanzania has announced an allocation of Tanzanian Shillings 15.7 billion ($6.5 million) to bolster funding for non-communicable diseases.

Channel Africa spoke with Tanzanian political analyst Jerry Muro, who confirmed the announcement, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving health outcomes beyond infectious diseases.

The allocation forms part of broader efforts to address rising cases of conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease, which have increasingly burdened the country’s healthcare system.
