Tanzania and Mozambique Sign Education Exchange Deal to Boost Bilateral Ties

THE Tanzanian government has signed a memorandum of understanding with Mozambique to facilitate the exchange of students between the two countries for education at various academic levels.

The agreement was signed on May 8, 2025, at the State House in Dar es Salaam by Mozambique’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maria Emmanuela Dosantos Lucas, representing her country, and Tanzania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabiti Kombo.

Under this agreement, Tanzania and Mozambique will be able to offer opportunities for their students to study in higher learning institutions and other academic institutions within each other’s countries.

The initiative aims to strengthen educational and cultural cooperation between the neighboring nations.

This partnership is expected to provide young people with broader access to knowledge, enhance professional development, and foster long-term diplomatic relations through education.
