Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI) and the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) have joined hands to announce the inaugural Tanzania International Manufacturers Expo 2023. The expo is scheduled to take place from October 4th to 6th, 2023, at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam.
The event aims to bring together key players from the private sector, government ministers, development partners, embassies, and the international community to explore opportunities for mutual growth and success. Leodgar Tenga, the executive director of CTI, highlighted that the expo would focus on innovation, technology, production practices, and quality standards. It is expected to attract more than 500 exhibitors and stakeholders from both local and international industrial sectors.
The expo will serve as a platform for stakeholders to discuss global trends, exchange ideas, and promote Tanzania as a manufacturing hub. Various activities will be organized during the event, including exhibitions, business matchmaking (B2B) sessions, seminars, panel discussions, and keynote addresses by prominent local and international businessmen and decision-makers.
The topics to be discussed at the expo will capitalize on the recent economic development policies supporting industrial growth in Tanzania. The event will also introduce new business models and the latest technologies necessary for greater success. Mr Tenga expressed his belief that the expo will bridge the gap between the potential of the local manufacturing industry and global importers and buyers.
Throughout the three-day event, attendees will gain insights into diverse topics such as extractive manufacturing, agri-processing, consumer goods manufacturing, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy technologies, electrical appliances, and modern industrial equipment and machinery.
Fortunatus Mhambe, the acting director of trade promotion at TanTrade, urged manufacturers to leverage the expo to elevate their brands and expand their reach. He emphasized the opportunity for prominent local industries to showcase their products and effectively market them globally.
Hussein Sufiani, the first vice chairperson of CTI, expressed optimism that the expo will strengthen the linkages between the local and international manufacturing industry. He noted that the event would provide a platform for businesses to collaborate, develop, expand, and share their expertise.
John Mnali, the director of Investment Promotion at the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC), highlighted the expo’s significance in showcasing the country’s investment potential, particularly in the manufacturing sector.
The Tanzania International Manufacturers Expo 2023 promises to be a vital event for promoting industrial growth, attracting investment, and fostering collaboration within the manufacturing industry in Tanzania.
