The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNHCR) has reported that ten people have died and 29 others were injured during the Sabasaba protests held across the country yesterday, July 7.
In a special statement, the Commission said it witnessed police officers erecting roadblocks that disrupted the movement of people, especially in Nairobi city.
The statement further noted that officers wearing hooded sweaters—commonly referred to as “hoods”—were seen collaborating with uniformed police in various parts of Nairobi County.
KNHCR strongly condemned the actions and called for the protection and respect of human rights during public demonstrations.
