The Tanzania Railway Cooperation has stated that passengers boarding for the SGR during the whole trial time shall use electronic tickets on booking, while in the train, and on disembarking. The trial session will start on September 2022, beginning with the trip from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro.

 TRC’s statement was presented today, on March 27, by the cooperation’s director of ICT Engineer Senzige Kisenge during a presentation before the Parliament’s Committee whom visited the project.

“This train uses sophisticated technology. When passengers board the train, their tickets will be scanned twice, on embarking and disembarking time,” – Said Mr Kisenge

Mr Kisenga said the building has elevators, making it accessible even to people with disabilities. The SGR is currently at 95.32%, with Dar – Morogoro trip preliminary trial scheduled to start in April.
