The good news to all mountain climbers in the world is that you will soon be able to share your live experience from on top of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest free-standing mountain in the world and Africa’s tallest mountain.
Following the successful results of The Royal Tour Film, starred by President Samia Suluhu, the government plans to pour more investment into the sector to increase the tourist inflow to the country.
According to the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Hon Nape Nnauye, by the end of October this year, the government will have already installed the 4G broadband internet service that can be reached up to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The project will cost Tsh 146m and serve between 800 – 1000 tourists daily. The ministry of communication is seeing a memorandum of understanding with the Tanzania Electric Supply Co. (TANESCO), enabling TTCL to use power transmission lines to put up adjacent poles for communication equipment.
