CAF delegation heads to Uganda for key AFCON 2027 preparations with Tanzania and partners

A senior delegation from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is set to arrive in Uganda for high-level meetings aimed at advancing preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be jointly hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.

The two-day meetings, scheduled for April 22–23 in Kampala, will bring together officials from the three host nations under the “Pamoja” partnership, as they work to coordinate planning and operational readiness for the tournament.

CAF says the engagement is part of its ongoing support to ensure that host countries meet required standards across key areas such as infrastructure, logistics, and tournament organisation.

The 2027 tournament, set to take place from June to July, will be the first Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by three countries, marking a historic milestone for regional cooperation in East Africa.

The meetings follow earlier inspection visits and technical assessments carried out by CAF, as preparations continue to gather pace ahead of the continental competition.

Officials say the discussions in Uganda are expected to focus on strengthening coordination mechanisms and ensuring that all three countries are aligned in delivering a successful tournament.
