Energy sector to solidify Tanzania and Saudi Arabia ties

Tanzania Minister for Energy January Makamba has met with Saudi Arabia counterpart Abdulaziz Bin Salman in Saudi Arabia on October 23, 2021 in the bid to establish firm trade relations as well as sharing knowledge and technology in the gas and oil industry.

After official talks with the fellow minister, Makamba delivered a special message from the United Republic of Tanzania President, Samia Suluhu Hassan to the Government of Saudi Arabia.

Tanzania and Saudi Arabia have had great relations for a very long time and the two are planning to further their relations by cooperating in the energy sector.

Upon confirming the above statement, “the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia visited Tanzania and likewise the King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has invited our President to visit Saudi Arabia,” said Makamba.

The country is one of the biggest oil producers in the world, thus its relation with Tanzania could lead to various great opportunities in the oil field.

Hon. Makamba was accompanied by the CEO of Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) CEO, Dr. James Mataragio and Michael Mjinja, Commissioner for Petroleum and Gas.
