President Samia’s government has dished out a chunk of Tsh. 2.5bn/- toward the completion of Machinga Market with the capacity to hold over 4000 small traders.
The minister of finance, Dr Mwigulu Nchemba, made those remarks in Dodoma during his visit with the Machingas at the project site.
“The project will enable you, small traders, to increase your incomes; hence even finance institutions can be ready to provide you with loans as business capital as you operate in a formal area,” – Mwigulu told the Machinga.
According to Dr Mwigulu, President Samia has directed the release of the money immediately to finish the project in time.
Dr Mwigulu even invited some of the traders to his office to discuss issues on the project, and he even promised them to re-visit the area after the project’s completion.
Dodoma District Commissioner Jabir Shekimweri thanked President Samia for authorizing the money to ensure small traders operate in a formal area.
