The unthinkable war, as addressed by most pro-Ukraine around the world, continues to ravage sovereign Ukraine at the heart of Europe; Ukraine’s President seems not ready to handle more casualties as he agreed to have talks with Russia.
However, President Volodymyr seemed to vehemently reject Russia’s idea of holding talks in Belarus, citing Belarus as Russia’s launchpad of Ukraine’s invasion.
President Volodymyr subsequently proposed cities he wants to hold talks with Russia. “Warsaw, Bratislava, Budapest, Istanbul, Baku. We suggested all of them,” Zelensky said in an address posted online.
“And any other city in a country from whose territory missiles do not fly would suit us,” the 44-year-old president said.
“That’s the only way talks can be honest. And could put an end to war.”
Zelensky’s address came as Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian news agencies that Moscow was prepared for talks and had dispatched a delegation to the Belarusian city of Gomel.
