The ministry of health has announced that there has been a sharp increase of COVID-19 cases from 8 patients in the third week of April to 32 patients in the 4 weeks of April, with Dar es Salaam itself having 70 cases.
According to the report of the chief medical officer, Dr Aifelo Sichwale, Dar es Salaam counts for 87.5% of patients in the country, with Arusha having 6 cases, making it the second, 2 in Kilimanjaro, 1 in Morogoro and Mwanza having 1 too.
The report also reveals that from April up to May, there hasn’t been any death recorded caused by COVID-19. However, two patients hospitalized due to COVID-19 were later confirmed not vaccinated.
