African Union on Thursday came out condemning Russia’s assault on Ukraine, calling for an “immediate ceasefire” before the situation gets to the point of no return.
AU top officials President Macky Sall, and Moussa Faki Mahamat, AU’s chair of the African Union Commission, released a joint statement saying “they are extremely concerned” by the invasion.
They called on Russia to “respect international law, the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Ukraine”.
