The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has collected TZS 150.04 billion in toll revenue from the Nyerere Bridge (Kigamboni) over the 10 years since the bridge was opened in May 2016.

NSSF Director General Masha Mshomba said the project cost TZS 345.20 billion, including TZS 328.74 billion for construction and TZS 16.46 billion in compensation for residents who were relocated to pave the way for the project.

He said the bridge was designed to recover the investment within 30 years, and by June 2026, NSSF had already collected TZS 150.04 billion from toll charges.

During the same period, NSSF spent TZS 25.81 billion on the operation and maintenance of the bridge.
